Control Chart Selection Wizard

Answer a few questions to find the right control chart for your process

Step 1 / Max 40%

What type of data are you monitoring?

This is the first key question in selecting a control chart

Use Case

A quality engineer facing a new monitoring requirement is unsure which SPC control chart to use. The Chart Wizard asks a few guided questions (data type, sample size, proportion data or not) and automatically recommends the most suitable chart type, avoiding wrong choices that invalidate the analysis or reduce sensitivity. Especially useful for factories just adopting SPC, or engineers who need to set up monitoring for a new process quickly — get a professional chart selection in under a minute.

Example

Case 1: SMT soldering, 5 boards sampled per shift, solder joint height measured (continuous) → Variable data + subgroup of 5 → recommend X̄-R chart Case 2: Solder paste printing, defective count recorded per lot (attribute, fixed sample of 200) → Attribute data + defect rate monitoring → recommend p-chart Case 3: Welding station, 1 destructive pull test per lot (continuous, n=1) → Variable data + individual values → recommend I-MR chart
